My trip in Ghana

I close today a two-months trip in Ghana.
Speaking English has become essential nowadays, specially when your goal is to work with International organisations and have more opportunities all over the world.

I’m so proud of myself when leaving Ghana right now. I’m not as fluent as I would like but I have really improved.
From a B2 (Upper Intermediate) level certified by the EF Standard English Test (EF SET) , I have now a C (Advanced) level certified by the British Council  Aptis – Flexible English Test which evaluates the Speaking, the Writing, the Listening, the Reading, Grammar and Vocabulary.

It means that I:
 have no difficulty in understanding any kind of spoken language delivered at fast native speed,
 can understand and interpret critically virtually all forms of written language,
 can produce clear, smoothly flowing well-structured speech,
 can write clear, smoothly flowing, complex texts in an appropriate and effective style and logical structure.

Modern technology has made it possible for many people to work at home rather than going to the office everyday. What are the advantages and disadvantages of working at home?

The modern technology give us the opportunity to work from home. A lot of people around the world has chosen nowadays to take profit from it and stay at home to work. Is it really benefit to work from home? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

The Covid-19 pandemic has shown us the importance of working from home. By allowing people to work from their bed, modern technologies have permitted to a lot of campanies to survive despite the breakdowns in their countries. With the opportunities offered by internet, we can have meetings and work on common projects even if we’re far from each others. Some ventures increase their productivity by using those technologies because their employees can take profit from the expectise of retired people or people staying far from the place they are.
The place where they work is really important for some people, they can be more motivated when they are in the places they know like their house.
We can study and teach from home, being surrounded by the people we love: our families, our children, etc.

But in the other hand, their can be some disadvantages in working from home. It’s difficult to stay focused when we don’t work in a formal work space. We can be disturbed by the people around us. Secondly, their is no physical interaction with colleagues, what is sometimes important to enforce the group.
Thirdly, in some projects, the manager can’t really know if people are doing correctly their job.

Modern technology has increased the possibilities to work from everywhere we are but we need to use carefully that opportunity.
